Miss Chante

Miss Chanté has been involved with the dance industry for over 15 years.

She has graduated from Centennial College’s Dance Performance program with honours and St. Roch’s Regional Arts Dance Program where she was awarded Highest Grade in Musical Theatre as well as St. Roch’s Dancer of Year. Before enrolling in arts specific education programs she trained and competed from age 8 to 19. She trained in disciplines such as Jazz, Tap, Acro, Ballet, Hip-Hop, Musical Theatre, Song and Dance, African, Lyrical and Contemporary.

As a competitor, over the years Miss Chanté has won a wide range of overall awards and scholarships including Highest Mark of the Competition in Hip-Hop, Ultimate Performer Recognition and a National title. She also continues to compete in local talent competitions and work professionally in the industry as a wedding performer and back-up dancer for local talent.

As a dance educator Miss Chanté has been growing and expanding her knowledge with the House of Fame Dance Family. There she ran march break and summer break dance camps, and instructed classes of all styles and age groups both recreationally and competitively. Her competitive students have achieved multiple overall awards, special awards, and scholarships throughout multiple competitions throughout North America, including the TOP Score of the entire competition in 2023. 

 

Outside of House of Fame, Miss Chanté has taught many workshops in elementary and secondary schools such as Harold M. Brathwaite Secondary School and Earnscliffe Sr. Public School, instilling in her students the same dedication and healthy competitive nature she possesses. 

Currently, Miss Chanté adores being a dance educator and can’t wait to continue developing her craft, and sharing her love for dance to students and fellow educators at House of Fame Dance Academy
